For the past year or so, I’ve been following the work of the ultra talented graphic designer, artist and photographer, Promise Tangeman (yes, her name really is Promise!). She recently posted an awesome DIY art project that I just had to share with our readers. It’s the perfect project for all of you crafty people out there that are looking for a different, unique project. And better yet, when you are finished, you’ll have some really awesome wall art for your home.
Promise was a guest on the fun and quirky online show Girls With Glasses Show with Brooke White (of American Idol) and Summer Bellessa (of Eliza Magazine). As a guest, she takes you step by step through her perfected photo transfer process. This process transforms your drawings, photographs, art and whatever else you love into a one-of-a-kind piece of art.
WHAT YOU NEED: small canvas, paint (whatever colors you fancy), a couple small paint brushes, artwork (see video below), access to a Lazer printer (Kinkos, OfficeMax, etc), Liquitex Gloss Heavy Gel, water, a toothbrush, creativity and a little patience.
DIRECTIONS: Well, I’ll leave that up to Promise and the Girls With Glasses. Here we go…
Isn’t that a fun tutorial video? We love it and can’t wait to try this out ourselves! For more information about Promise Tangeman, visit her website and make sure to check out her blog. It’s a great read!
