I’m so excited to share a few blog-related news items with you all!

The first bit of news comes from Wayfair.com! This Wednesday night, Greg and I will be hosting Wayfair’s live #HomemakerHappyHr Twitter chat from 8-9PM EST. We’ll be talking about his + her decorating and answering live questions. How fun is that?! Plus! Every 10 minutes throughout the hour, they’ll be giving away a $25 Wayfair gift card! He hope you guys will join in on the fun and it will be nice to see some familiar “faces” ; )

For the second bit of news… As of today, I’m now a part of the contributing team over at IHeart Organizing! I’m so thrilled and honored to be a part of “the team” and I’m so excited to be in such great company. If you don’t already read IHeart Organizing, stop what you’re doing and click over there now! You’ll be amazed at Jen’s organizing handy work. She’s organized everything in her home from her mater closet turned office to the freezer. You might recognize Jen from the HGTV special, Clean Freaks. She’s the one who laminates everything and goes with Sabrina Soto on a crazy organized grocery shopping trip, haha! So be on the look out for organizing-related posts from me every few weeks over at IHeart Organzing. Also, be sure to check out the blogs of the other contributors – they’re crazy awesome!

Well, that about wraps up our blog-related news at the moment. We’re getting back on track with house-related happenings on Wednesday with a living room update!

Lately, the glass in our master bathroom shower has been giving me an aneurysm. It seems like there are always smudges, soap scum, and water marks on it, and it was getting on my last nerve. I must have clean, sparkly glass! I tried Kaboom, Lysol Shower Cleaner, Scrubbing Bubbles, the “dryer sheet trick” and even a light scrub of Barkeeper’s Friend. (You’re not supposed to use it on glass, I know! I was desperate. Luckily, it didn’t scratch the glass!) Then I remembered my Aunt Dee Dee telling me about a homemade cleaner she uses all the time on her shower: 1 part Dawn, 2 parts vinegar.

Luckily, I had an extra spray bottle on hand, so I anxiously mixed up the concoction and went to work. Simply put… this stuff is magic in a bottle! I keep the bottle underneath the sink in the bathroom. When I get out of the shower, I just spray down the glass with the magical concoction, let it set for a minute, then spray down the glass and it sparkles like new!

After doing some Pin-searching (Pinterest is the new Google, right?!), I found that a lot of other people have done this as well, though they microwave the vinegar before mixing in the Dawn and mix equal parts of the two. I’m not sure what microwaving does for it, but my Aunt said if you do two parts vinegar to one part Dawn, it’s easier to rinse – making it perfect for the shower. If you want a cleaner more on the sudsy side, try doing equal parts.
