His + Her Favorite Things

Yep, time for yet another monthly installment of His + Her Favorite Things…

His Favorite Things / 7thhouseontheleft.com

ONE // Replicas of the vintage posters seen on the set of Big Bang Theory. These posters really shine because they were extremely forward-thinking for their time, in both design and content. Sci-fi from the 30’s and 40’s was so interesting because there were no boundaries. Everything was open to exploration, and nothing was too far-reaching.   TWO // Target’s new FeedUSA line. These items are one of the easiest ways to make a difference in other people’s lives while doing your normal, everyday shopping. The profit from each item goes toward putting healthy meals in schools all over America. We’re going to be doing a project with FeedUSA and Target Inner Circle in the coming weeks and we’re really excited about it. More on that later.  THREE // This light switch has got to be one of the coolest ways to turn on the lights that I’ve ever seen. It might not be great for a family room (unless you’re really into that type of decor), but I think it would be great in a geeky office setting… like mine. FOUR // I really like taking break between tasks when I’m working on a complex problem. A small puzzle like this allows you to keep your brain working, but get your mind off the task at hand. That way, when you get back to your task, your brain is still revved up, and you’re looking at the problem with a new set of eyes.

Her Favorite Things / 7th House on the Left

ONE // I love statement necklaces and this one in particular is one of my current obsessions. White goes with everything and his has a great summery vibe. TWO // We are so ready for the carport renovation to be over – even though we’ve barely gotten started. Every time I see something on Pinterest that has to do with outdoor entertaining, I get so excited for the day we’re ready to do that. I’m deeply in love with this particular outdoor party. THREE // We’ve been eying new living room furniture for a while now and this love seat is on our short list – okay, more like “long list”. We really like the clean lines and simple design. FOUR // Metallics and polka dots. What more could you ask for?  FIVE // Candles are my weakness and Illume is one of my favorite candle brands. Their new trio of scents at Urban Outfitters are supper yummy – and have cute labels.

So, how about you? Any current favorite you want to gush about?

I am new to your blog, but I am enjoying it immensely. Are the love seats comfortable? We don’t live near a west elm. I was wondering if you have tested them out. I am looking for furniture too. 🙂

Thank you! So glad you found us! They actually closed our local West Elm a few years ago. Such a big bummer! They have one a few hours away (in Tyson’s Corner) and we’ll definitely be driving up there to test drive our choice before pulling the trigger.

I’m also obsessed with statement necklaces! My favorite is Johnny Loves Rossie Statement Bib necklace. During my wedding anniversary, my husband gave me a Dannijo! It is so pretty but totally priceless! I like it so much. 🙂

I’ve got to check out Target’s FEED items. I’ve been seeing the TV spots and wondering what all they have. (I’m currently trying to avoid going in to Target, though, because you know you can’t get out of there without spending a ton on things you really don’t need. Amiright?)

Love the necklace and the sofa too!
