Being a graphic designer, I am a total font addict. Seriously, I should probably join a support group. With over a thousand fonts on my computer, there are a handful of them that I frequently find myself going back to. And what’s cool is that a lot of them are free to download. A little over a year ago, I shared 20 of my favorite free fonts. That post was such a hit that we decided it was about time to round up 20 more of my favorite free fonts. Okay, enough chat, here they are…
1. Caviar Dreams 2. Always In My Heart 3. Geared Slab 4. DK Wayang 5. Deftone Stylus
6. Haymaker 7. Eternal Promise 8. Frenchy 9. Homestead 10. Somebody That I Used to Know
11. Wisdom Script 12. Quicksand 13. Channel 14. Hangin 15. Lobster 16. Ostrich Sans
17. Pea Lil King 18. Road Movie 19. The Only Exception 20. Raleway
If you plan on using any of these fonts on your monetized blog or something like an Etsy store, make sure you read all of the guidelines before doing so. Some of the fonts listed ask for a donation of $5 or more. However, if you type “0”, then click “download”, you can download the font for free for personal use.
**Installing Fonts: If you need help installing fonts, here’s a great (and easy!) tutorial on how to install fonts on a Mac: here. Just in case anyone needs a PC version, check out this tutorial: here. There’s a bunch of different ways to install fonts on a Mac, but here’s how I do it: Download the fonts to your desktop, open Font Book, click File, Add Fonts, then select the files you just downloaded to your desktop, and click Open. Then, your fonts should be installed! If they aren’t showing up in Word or other programs, try restarting the program.
