His + Her Favorite Things

Even though we’ve been busy with projects and life in general around here for the last few weeks, we’ve still managed to find a few new favorites. Here are a few that have caught our eyes:

His Favorite Things / 7th House on the Left

ONE // I’m a big fan of graphic tee’s and one of my new favorite places to shop for them is Fab.com. They have a bunch of cool and unusual designs that you won’t find at the big department stores. TWO // When I was a kid, I wanted to be a paleontologist – what 6-year-old boy didn’t, right? I still have a great love for dinosaurs, so I totally want to get one of these for my office. Ash said she’s found a few DIY versions online, and she’s determined to make one for me. THREE // Our new favorite snack around here is Wholly Guacamole’s 100 Calorie Snack Packs. Ash likes hers with carrots, and I like it with Stacy’s garlic pita chips. It’s the next best thing to my mother-in-law’s homemade version… and that’s pretty dang good. FOUR // A few weeks ago, Poppin surprised us with sample of a few of their new products (not in exchange for a mention or anything like that, just being nice). One of the things included was a pack of these ball point pens. My ability to lose pens knows no bounds, so these being so bright and colorful helps me keep track of them, and they’re comfortable to use, too!

Her Favorite Things / 7thhouseontheleft.com

ONE // These cute little jotter notebooks are perfect for grocery lists and keeping in your bag on the go. I really like the geometric designs and color combo. TWO // I have a thing for iPhone cases. I switch them out almost as much as I do my socks. I finally got around to upgrading to an iPhone 5, so what did that mean? Why, a new case of course. After going back and forth, I finally decided on this one from Rifle Paper Co. I love the shades of coral and especially the gold foil accents. I don’t think I’ll be switching this one out anytime soon. THREE // If you even remotely like Downton Abbey, put down whatever you’re doing and go buy Cranford. My cousin and I watched the entire series a few weekends ago and I loved every second of it. Trust me. Go. You’ll thank me later. FOUR // I love little storage boxes. The brass details and polka dots on this one had me at hello. Even though this is technically a recipe box, you could totally use it for little odds and ends in the office.

So, how about you? Any current favorite you want to gush about?

Love, love, love Cranford. Especially the cow and it’s flannel outfit. Another you might like, though it’s shorter is North and South – not the Patrick Swayze version – but the PBS version. Also, you might like the first season of the “new” Upstairs Downstairs.

Yes, I love Upstairs Downstairs! I’ll have to check out the other too. Thanks!

      PS The cow… Hilarious!

We have the same iPhone 5 case! I luuuuurve mine! The only complaint I have is that it’s hard to get it off (and I like to switch to a beefier case when I go running just in case). But that gold foil! Gosh, it’s pretty.

Oooo THANKS for the Cranford recommendation…. I am lost in TV land right now, having to make do with Real Housewives of NJ. Totally not cutting it.

My husband (a fellow computer scientist and geek) is also very into graphic tees and recently came across Redbubble. Lots of unique designs — they even have a “geek” t-shirt subcategory. Doctor Who, Star Trek, Game of Thrones, you name it. Check it out if you haven’t already!

P.S. I haven’t even heard of Cranford but I can tell you now, I WILL be watching it. πŸ™‚

Avocados, straight up and in homemade guacamole, are my favorite food….but I have to agree with Greg – that wholly guacamole is damn good when you don’t want to take the time to whip up your own!
