I started out with this glass box from Wayfair. I knew I wanted to fill it with something, and seeing as how I’m currently trying to warm up the house with little touches of Fall, something fun, simple and Fall-ish was in order. Over the weekend, I took a trip to Michaels to look around. While I was there, I noticed all of the Ashland Home Decor products were 60% off, so I picked up a bag of moss and a bag of tiny faux pumpkins for around $6 total. Oh, and see the glitter pumpkin-shaped thing I wouldn’t ordinarily buy? Well, I bought it specifically for the tiny little orange pumpkin attached on the inside of it. It was marked down to around 50 cents and I was on the hunt for an orange pumpkin, so I snatched it up.

When I got home, I cut the pumpkin out using a pair of wire clippers. The rest was, like I said, stupid simple… a few pieces of moss in the bottom, three tiny faux pumpkins and…

Bam. A pumpkin patch in a box. Even though it’s probably our simplest project to date, I’m kind of obsessed with it. I’m already thinking of ways to Christmas it up in a few weeks. Maybe some faux snow and a tiny reindeer? I think yes.

We have some family staying with us around Thanksgiving, so I thought the perfect place for this would be in the guest room on one of the side tables. I love the simplicity of it and how it brings a little Fall in the room without being too overpowering. I mean, come on, who doesn’t love a pumpkin patch in a box?

LOVE this idea! I have a gorgeous terrarium but I’m not using it for plants right now (black thumb) so this would be perfect for it!

Your fall box is really cute! I have to ask about the old-fashioned telephone on the bedside table. Does it really work? I love it.

Thanks! Yes, it works and it’s actually a cordless phone. We bought it from Pottery Barn a while back. They don’t carry it anymore, but here’s a similar corded version:

So simple and cute. I see that the guest room won the fluted lamp (good call). Can’t wait to see the finishing touches on the guest room.
