Giveaways Happy Weekend

So, yesterday. It finally happened. I had all four wisdom teeth pulled. I mentioned in this post that this was going down the week before Thanksgiving, but because we had to go out of town at the last minute, we had to postpone it to yesterday. It wasn’t that bad. Uncomfortable, sure, but not as bad as my head (and unneeded Google searches) tried to tell me it would be. Though I’m in pain and my face is swelling (fun stuff right there, folks), I’m so glad it’s over and behind me. On that note, on to the fun things…

Happy Weekend //

Later today, my little brother flies in from LA. Swollen face or not, I’m so excited to meet him at the airport and hug him really, really tight. Greg and I are so happy to have him home for a week or so before our entire family head to Florida for Christmas. He and Greg are having a boy’s night out tonight and going to the John Mayer concert here in Richmond. 6th row. Backstage access. So. Jealous. Okay, nah, not really. I have my dad babysitting me with pain meds and Downton Abby Season 3. Yep, he’s a good dad.

If you follow us on Instagram, you might have seen a few photos from my and Greg’s annual “Christmas Movie Night for Two” last night. Every year, we normally do this on Black Friday, but, again, since we ended up being out of town, we decided to push it back a bit.

Christmas Movie Night for Two // #mykindofholiday //

Our “Christmas Movie Night for Two” always consists of pajamas, all the lights off except for the Christmas lights, cozy quilts, all phones on “Do Not Disturb Mode”, our favorite Christmas-themed treats, popcorn and a few Christmas movies. This year, we watched Arthur Christmas (which, in our opinion, is the most underrated animated holiday film ever) and Holiday Inn (a pure classic). Our movie nights are always one of my favorite kinds of date nights but our “Christmas Movie Night for Two” is extra special and has always been our way of kicking off the Christmas season. That, and it gives us an excuse to eat popcorn and peanut butter M&Ms at the same time. Best. Combo. Ever.

To make this weekend extra special, our pals at Target are giving one of you guys a $25 gift card so you can have your own Christmas movie night and maybe even give the newΒ Target TicketΒ a whirl. You can enter with the widget below or post a photo on Instagram of your favorite holiday activity using the hashtag #mykindofholiday and tagging us in the description so we’ll be sure to see it (@7thhouseblog). This is a special weekend “Flash Giveaway”, so it will run over the weekend and close Monday evening. Happy weekend and good luck, everyone!

Arthur’s Perfect Christmas is about my most favorite Christmas movie out there. I never thought I would “meet” someone else who thought the same. My most favorite line is from the very end when Uncle Fred says something to the effect of “You know Arthur, we don’t always get what we want. Sometimes we get something even better.”

Hmm, I think you’re talking about a different film (we watched this one). I’ll definitely have to check out Arthur’s Perfect Christmas though! It looks really cute : )

So glad to hear someone else has Holiday Inn on their Christmas movie list. We watch it every year. Shortcut to the shortcut!

I feel your pain! I had mine done this year and it was my first procedure ever- I was really nervous because they were going to give a lot of drugs. And I’m a nurse so I thought of all of the worst case scenarios. I’m like google and webmd times ten. Hope you’re taking it easy. I tried to eat real food too soon and paid for it so jello for you! Jealous of your date night in- I think it’s about time for us to do that! Take care πŸ™‚

Best idea ever! Now I think I’m going to con my husband into doing that before Christmas. Even though we have shockingly different opinions of what a good Christmas movie is. I love Muppet Christmas Carol and he’s still trying to convince me Die Hard is a Christmas movie.
Good luck with the wisdom teeth healing. That’s no fun!
