Spring (Cleaning) Is In the Air

Call me crazy, but spring cleaning is one of my favorite things to do. Is the actual cleaning the most enjoyable thing to do in the world? No. (I’m not that crazy.) It’s the feeling after all the work is done that’s out of this world kinds of awesome. For us spring cleaning consists of not only giving the entire house a good deep clean, but also purging our belongings (donating/throwing away things we don’t want/need anymore) and organizing the forgotten nooks and crannies. A few days later, when the house is all sparkly, tidy and decluttered… it’s like we have a new house.

10 Spring Cleaning Tips + Tricks via The Apron Blog by The Home Depot

All of that being said, when The Home Depot contacted me and asked me to share 10 of our favorite spring cleaning tips, I remember saying out loud as I read the email, “Absolutely!” It seemed like a fun topic to talk about and one I’d really enjoy writing. Well, it ended up being a really great, fun project and got me all kinds of excited about our upcoming spring cleaning regime.Β The article is now live over on The Home Depot’s The Apron Blog. Check out the article right here. And, a special thank you to Greg for being my “model” so I could take the photos I needed. He’s a keeper, folks!

I made your DIY non-toxic version of Goo Gone and it has worked BEAUTIFULLY! I love how it smells so nice, but best of all, it works so well without all of the harsh chemicals. Thanks again for sharing that!

What a fun article! Just wish I had more time to do a proper spring clean all in one hit, instead of little bits – must be far more satisfying at the end of a sustained cleaning session!

I do a big Spring clean in mid-May after school is done and before my daughter’s party. It allows me to purge items before she receives a bunch of new ones. Plus, it starts the summer off with a clean, organized home.

Great inspiration for my spring cleaning! We just gutted the master bath shower and will be adding a frameless door (not a DIY)- your squeegee tip will come in handy!

Spring cleaning is great!!! Love the feeling too when I’ve completed the task I ‘ve started.
But I do not wait for just Spring anymore, I have broken my cleaning down into chunks, so much easier for me to do.
