How to Fold a Fitted Sheet (the Easy Way)

How to fold a fitted sheet

A while back, I posted about organizing our linen closet (see that post here). Since then, one of the most random, yet frequently asked, questions I get is, “How do you get your fitted sheets to look so neat and tidy?” I always try to explain it as simply as possible or reference the “Martha method”, but I still feel like it might be a little too confusing.

How to Fold a Fitted Sheet (the easy way) / 7thhouseontheleft.com

I don’t know anyone who loves folding fitted sheets. If you do, you deserve a gold star sticker.Β But yesterday, I finally came across a super simple and short video that perfectly went through the same steps I go through to fold the oh-so-dreaded fitted sheets and – oddly enough – it makes folding fitted sheets… dare I say it… fun.

I got a little nerdy and watched the video about 5 times just because I thought the music, videography and styling was so perfect. Well done, West Elm. You just gave me yet another reason to love youΒ more than Kanye loves Kanye.

This is such a cute video. Thanks for sharing! I fold my sheets the same way and store them in their pillowcase to keep them all together and looking neat and tidy. I have to admit, the fun music does make it look kinda fun to fold sheets… πŸ™‚

Fun video! I learned that way from Martha, but haven’t been storing them in the pillow case. I think I will try that!

Thanks for sharing this cute video! This is the Martha method but I remember watching on one of her shows and everyone but Martha had folded their sheets into a ball. It took me a while to figure out. I think I like folding fitted sheets now – gives me a sense of accomplishment πŸ˜€

I have been folding sheets like this for over 40 years. I figured it out all by myself, didn’t have Martha around back then… πŸ™‚

Awesome! I will have to try this. My linens look CRAZY when I “fold” them up.

You are really leaving us in suspense about your dining room curtains lol. Then again, I think the only reason I remembered them is because I’m still searching for some for my house.

I do fold my fitted sheets that way. The trick after that is trying to fold it’s unfitted mate so that it’s the same size. Bahahaha!

Thanks for posting the vid though!

I get the same results with a slightly different method, but I would never store them inside one of the pillowcases as the newly-ironed loveliness would be lost and one of the set would look different from the others.

Can I admit here that the fold sheets have always been easy for me but the FLAT sheets give me problems?? LOL The flat sheets are never perfectly square so they never fold perfectly smooth or even and it drives. me. nuts! πŸ˜€

    What a great video!

Sidenote: Is “because” spelled wrong in the first graphic on purpose? Not sure if I’m missing something, but the misspell kills me πŸ™‚

Miss your posts. Hope everyone doing well and is healthy/happy. I am working on all your great organization tips/tricks. Feels good to purge/donate. I.e… Giving that coat or blanket to someone who needs it to stay warm, rather than sitting for “someday use” in a closet….. Hope your back soon…. I miss your awesome ideas.
