7th House on the Left

Let’s face it, guys are the hardest to buy Christmas gifts for! It’s a challenge to say the least. With my newfound love (more like an obsession) for Etsy, I’m hoping for a much easier time this year when it comes to buying gifts for the special men in my life. With SO many unique sellers and handmade items, this one site opens a whole new realm of possibilities. Here are a few of my favorite recent finds that would be perfect for those hard to buy for lads:

guitar strap ETSY THURSDAY: GIFTS FOR HIM

This is, hands down, my favorite “gift for him” this year… I adore this Smokey Guitar Strap from Moxie & Oliver. Made to order, have it customized with your favorite song lyrics, quote or special message. This is a perfect and meaningful gift for your special guitar player and bound to be a favorite on Christmas morning.

popcorn ETSY THURSDAY: GIFTS FOR HIM

Perfect for your snack-food loving guy, this Gourmet Popcorn Seasoning Kit from Jackie & Ario is bound to be a home run. The set comes with 10 gourmet popcorn seasons in small glass topped tins and popcorn — of course! Experiment with flavors such as chocolate caramel, dill pickle, parmesan garlic, barbecue and more.

tech clock ETSY THURSDAY: GIFTS FOR HIM

Here’s a gift idea for the “techy” guys. This Apple iPod Hard Drive Clock from Teco Art was created from an actual circuit board. A great conversation piece for any geek-centric office space.

‘Tis the season for holiday baking! For this week’s edition of Etsy Thursday, we decided to round up a few of our favorite baking-related items found on Etsy:

vintage apron ETSY THURSDAY: HOLIDAY BAKING EDITION

Even Donna Reed herself would have to approve of this festive Vintage Poinsettia Pleated Apron from CoffeeKlatch Vintage Linens.  Straight from the 1950′s, CoffeeKlatch has a very good selection of vintage linens. Including a few seasonal options to bring that vintage charm to your holiday baking rituals. Just browsing through all of them will take you right back to the days of Lucy Ricardo, Donna Stone and June Cleaver. If you rather have a vintage apron to use year around, no problem. Etsy has 4,983 (and counting) search results for “vintage apron”. Needless to say, you have a wide selection to choose from!

cookie party kit1 ETSY THURSDAY: HOLIDAY BAKING EDITION

Cookie Exchange Parties are so much fun! I’ve always wanted to host one but have never gotten around to doing it. Maybe next year when we aren’t in the midst of unpacking. Fingers crossed. With this kit from Did Someone Say Party?, you will have everything you need in order to host a memorable Cookie Exchange Party (just add cookies!). The kit comes with handmade vintage-style invitations with custom lined envelopes, table tent cards, gift tag favors in custom made pillow boxes, recipe cards, adorable bags for your cookies and even bags for your guest to take home their delicious loot. With all of that preparation done for you, all you have to do is bake the cookies!

cake tester ETSY THURSDAY: HOLIDAY BAKING EDITION

Sometimes the old way of doing things is the best way. Kind of like this nifty Appalachian Broom Style Cake Tester. This handmade tool is not only unique but really handy too. Just break off a straw and insert it into the center of your baked dish. If the straw comes out clean, ta da! It’s done. This would be a great stocking stuffer!

Next week, we’re going to showcase some unique gifts for HIM found on Etsy.

Thanksgiving is only 7 days away but you still have just enough time to gather up the last minute decorations for your holiday get together. Here are a just a few of our favorite finishing touches we found on Etsy:

thankfulcards ETSY THURSDAY: THANKSGIVING EDITION

Instead of place cards, put one of these thought provoking I’m Thankful For Letterpress Cards from Cotton Flower Press at each place setting. They will be the perfect way to remember what the Thanksgiving holiday is all about.

thanksbanner ETSY THURSDAY: THANKSGIVING EDITION

Declare your thankfulness with this hand painted Thankful Garland Banner – perfect for hanging on your mantle or even over a wide doorway.

vintage plates ETSY THURSDAY: THANKSGIVING EDITION

There is nothing better, in my opinion, than vintage touches on a table setting. These appetizer plates hailing from the 1950′s would be the perfect touch of vintage at your Thanksgiving table. They are chic, classic and Lucy Ricardo would definitely approve.

‘Tis the season to be baking… right? For sure! I’ve found a few really cool baking tools on Etsy that I can’t wait to share with you for next week’s edition of Etsy Thursday!
